Howdy Folks! More than a few of you know me, I wear many hats around here but I have been CAAN's Digital Media Strategist for the last year now. Here I am at a seafood joint off PCH in LA with my mom. Outside of CAAN I am a multimedia artist and dabble in the circus arts and fire spinning. For instance, I can do things like this: Those are poi, the shape traditionally used for a pacific islander fire dancing technique that was adopted by the rave scene and then by the clowning community and now it's a rather vibrant mulit-cultural flow art. I went to Smith College for Anthro and Studio art, always looking at ways that I could combine those skills to affect chance in public policy. I have an overwhelming obsession with anime and Yiddish lit theory, and if you ever ask me how those two things relate you're going to want to be ready for a long and entirely nerdy schpeel (please do, I love talking about it).
