Incineration 101 - Municipal solid waste (trash) incineration is the most expensive and polluting way
to manage waste or to make energy. Only 11.7% of U.S. trash in the U.S. is incinerated. The rest is recycled, composted or landfilled. Here's an overview on why Incineration is not a viable method of waste disposal.
